Nirmand, the Tehsil Head Quarter of Outer Saraj of Anni Legislative Assembly Constituency which was known as Largest Village of the Himachal Pradesh, come in existence as Nagar Panchayat vide Himachal Pradesh Urban Development Office Notification No. UD-A (1)-2/2014 dated 28.10.2020 by merger of main part of the Gram Panchayat Nirmand of Distt. Kullu HP. The Town is 162 km away from Distt. Headquarter Kullu and 145 Kms away from State Head Quarter Shimla, situated hill side of River Satluj. The population of the town is 2049 as per census population of 2011. The Town is divided into 7 Wards, the Ist General Election of the Nagar Panchayat was conducted during April,2021 and 3 Nos. In addition of the 7 Elected Members, 3 Nos. are as Govt. Nominee. As per Notification of Nagar Panchayat, the residents of the town are exempted from the payment of general tax for a period of three years. The main moto of the Nagar Panchayat is to provide 100% Street Lights, to make Clean and Fresh town, and to provide all basic amenities to the locality of the town. The Cader Strength of the Staff is only 5 Nos.

Dechen Choekhor Mahavira Monastery

Established in the early 21st century, Dechen Choekhor Mahavira Monastery in Sarabai Village is considered to be the holiest Buddhist spot in the state of Himachal Pradesh owing to its association with the Drukpa Kargyu Lineage. A structure representative of Indo-Tibetan art, the colourful monastery is known for its serene and positive vibes and overlooks the breathtaking Beas Valley.
